A 1967 US pressing from the brilliant JEFFERSON AIRPLANE who were making waves as a mind blowing psychedelic group - touring and playing live at West Coast trippy events in the Filmore West, Golden Gate Park and around the Haight Ashbury scene.
It was an amazing period in music, and these musicians were pushing the psych rock envelope more than anyone..... and beyond imagination!
Just after Signe Anderson departed the group, Grace Slick took her place and then they really were 'taking off' !
This album is one of the finest of the San Francisco hippy movement - and certainly from the best band. Jorma Kaukonen is a wonderful and brilliant guitar player, and with Jack Casady and Paul Kantner - this was a seriously great unit indeed.
I rarely saw original label copies of this essential LP in any condition, even when I was living in SF - and it's great to have in nice playing shape as this one.
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades VG++ to EXCELLENT.
The disc has few sparse superficial marks, and so a very respectable copy here that plays well.
Labels are VG++, no pen or tears.
There's the "R C A" stickers that suggest this may be an export copy(?). Probably removable but original record label printed, they're not a blemish or fault.
The HEAVY card GATEFOLD COVER is VG+
Some damage to the top edge, and general wear overall, a light name in pen (that almost disappeared when rubbed). Price sticker residue may be removable with care.
Overall still a solid example of an iconic 54 year old original lp - and i would certainly consider this 'a keeper'.
