Description
This is England at the turn of the 80s. Initially bands financed cassette tapes to sell but often graduated to vinyl. The Jelly Babies were such a band who self-financed their own record, pressed a handful and then disappeared. The Jelly Babies fit this mould [ouch!] so well. The sleeve is a monochrome, double-sided A4 sheet of paper with pictures and scrawlings and typed text, whilst the disc has plain white labels stamped with the group name and ep title. The address is given as Rainham, Essex, the year is 1981.
It's not punk, more experimental pop with arty leanings but certainly something interesting along the way. A great example as to what unknown bands were doing to try and make a mark. Low-fi with little mixing in the studio [named Dirt Cheap]. This is a little gem in a sea of sometimes mediocrity. Both disc and sleeve are in very nice order. The Buyer will be most pleased with this purchase!
