Don't wonder why this LP is named Jesse Davis when everyone in the music biz and fans knew him as Jesse Ed Davis. Jesse was a master of Guitar and Slide Guitar as his list of credits as a session musician is phenomenal. His playing in the late 1960's with Blues great Taj Mahal was a great showcase for his talents. While doing all this session work, he was offered a deal with Atco Records to do some solo LP's. This was his first, released in 1970 with Jesse handling Vocals and Guitar, and a sensational lineup behind him. Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Larry Knechtel, Ben Sidran, Chuck Blackwell, Jim Gordon and a full Horn section, as well as many others too numerous to list, backing Vocals by Nikki Barclay, Merry Clayton, Vanetta Fields, Gram Parsons and more. Perfect album that demonstrates what it was like in the late 1960's-early 1970's to get some musician friends together in the studio and produce a session like this. Now gone, Jesse Ed Davis has left a massive amount of music behind that wouldn't have been the same without him! Rare LP.
