Description
This is the rare original 1970 very earliest US pressing of the famous first version of Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Weber, on Decca double-LP DXSA-7206. This is the first version before the stage show, with Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan as Jesus. This copy is the rare first Terre Haute pressing, with regular Decca labels, before they started using the specially designed JCS labels. A very rare version. Original textured gatefold cover, and compete with the libretto booklet. Both discs are very nearly perfectly mint and play flawlessly and just beautifully. A few light superficial sleeve scuffs but barely. The cover has a little wear at the bottom edge, and just a tiny, tiny bit at the top, but is otherwise nearly immaculate. A top, beautiful original copy, very hard to beat.
