Description

JETHRO TULL AQUALUNG LP ON ISLAND ILPS 9145

1st PRESSING

ON THE PINK RIM PALM TREE

ISLAND LABEL

This is the very rare pre-green Chrysalis UK pressing on the PINK RIM ISLAND label with the Matrix numbers A-1U and B-3U (only first pressings have these) and has the very early stamper codes 1HG & 2WO.

The green Chrysalis labels were only introduced after the limited number of pink island labels had been used up - making original Island copies very hard to come by. This is because Chrysalis originally had a licensing deal with Island but subsequently decided to release the LP under its own name - hence the label change to Chrysalis.

The cover has the famous original gatefold textured sleeve printed by EJ Day and is in Excellent condition - it just has the timing of the tracks written neatly alongside the track titles on the rear cover. The cover has the original gothic style ILPS 9145 catalogue number on the reverse and on the spine.

It comes with the original inner sleeve which is in very good condition - just a little sellotape to reinforce the seams and the catalogue number has been written in very small letters at the top..

Labels are superb - no writing or stylus marks at all.

The vinyl is very good to excellent. Light feathering marks and no significant scratches or stains. Plays really well with just the minimum of background noise.

An extremely rare copy of a very popular LP.

POSTAGE: £3 (UK) £5 (EUROPE) & £7.50 (REST OF THE WORLD)
