From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional MINT- example of the brilliant studio album by JETHRO TULL titled “BENEFIT”, Catalogue Number ILPS 9123. This is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK STEREO PRESSING on the ISLAND (CHRYSALIS) RECORD LABEL, with a lovely 1st ISSUE MacNEILL PRESS LTD un-laminated single sleeve. [The green Chrysalis labels have the White “i” Island logo and text around the tops. The matrix numbers and stampers are ILPS 9123 A//2 11 11 and ILPS 9123 B//2 11 1].
The sleeve is in between VG and EX condition with just light wear and a few minor creases.
The record is in MINT- condition. It’s a very solid pressing which sits perfectly flat on the turntable. The green labels are like new with no spindle traces. There is no wear to the spindle hole. Both sides play essentially as new. The audio playback is faultless. You simply will not find a better-playing original copy of this wonderful album – I guarantee it!
The plain white inner sleeve, with “MADE IN ENGLAND” and “PATENT No…” text is in unmarked EX condition.
Overall this is a stunning copy which will grace any record collection.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects. Still a very presentable sleeve.
PACKAGING
Records are sent out in new cruciform record mailers. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
