Description
On offer is a nice copy of Jethro Tull's 3rd album Benefit. Released in 1970 on the green Chrysalis label, this is a very early copy, having 1st press stamps in the dead wax and with the earliest (textured) sleeve made by MacNeill Press.
Label and catalogue number: Chrysalis ILPS 9123
Matrices and stampers: ILPS 9123 A//2 1 2 1 4 and ILPS 9123 B//1 1 1
For track listing please see label pics.
Condition: This is a nice looking vinyl, with no scratches or marks that I can see and playback on both sides is faultless - a lovely sound. The green Chrysalis labels (with the white 'i' logo) are clean and bright with just a few spindle marks and the spindle hole shows little wear. The textured picture sleeve is free from writing and stickers and has lasted extremely well. There are a couple of creases on each side, but corner/edge scuffing is minimal - a nice sleeve. The original inner sleeve is only poly-lined on one side, but is clean and free from tears and creases.
All in all this is a nice copy of a very collectable album.
The record will be despatched in a record mailer, with stiffener.
