JETHRO TULL - STAND UP - FIRST PRESSING 1969 ALBUM ISLAND RECORDS, PINK "CIRCLE" ROUGH TEXTURED LABELS, CAT NO: ILPS-9103 MATRIX NUMBERS A/B HEAVY FIRST PRESS VINYL IN POP-UP SLEEVE THIS IS A VERY EARLY FIRST PRESSING OF THE CLASSIC STAND UP ALBUM. THE VINYL HAS A NUMBER OF MARKS, SCUFFS AND HAIRLINES WHICH MOSTLY DON'T AFFECT PLAY. HOWEVER THERE IS SOME BACKGROUND NOISE ON SOME QUIETER PARTS, AND BETWEEN TRACKS. THERE IS ONE STICK ON "FATMAN", OTHERWISE THE RECORD PLAYS VERY WELL AND STILL SOUNDS GREAT - TESTAMENT TO THE QUALITY OF THE HEAVY VINYL PRESSINGS OF THE LATE SIXTIES. I WOULD RATE SIDE ONE BETWEEN GOOD AND VERY GOOD; SIDE TWO BETWEEN FAIR AND GOOD. THE COVER HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS. THE INSIDE "POP UP" IS PERFECT, BUT THERE IS CONSIDERABLE WEAR TO THE FRONT COVER AND THE SPINE. THERE IS A SMALL TEAR WHERE A STICKER HAS BEEN REMOVED. THE WHITE BACK COVER HAS SOME AGE DISCOLOURATION AND A NAME WRITTEN IN INK. THERE IS ALSO A NAME AND A SHOP STAMP ON THE INSIDE GATEFOLD (SEE PHOTOS). THE EDGES HAVE SOME DISCOLOURATION FROM TAPE. OVERALL THE SLEEVE IS ONLY IN FAIR CONDITION. THE LABELS ARE RATED AS GOOD, WITH THE RESIDUE OF A SHOP STAMP ON SIDE TWO, AND SOME SPOTTING/AGING MARKS TO SIDE ONE, BUT NO OTHER WRITING OR MARKS. THIS IS A FAR FROM PERFECT COPY OF "STAND UP", BUT WOULD MAKE A REASONABLE COLLECTION FILLER - IF YOU ARE JUST STARTING OUT AS A JETHRO TULL COLLECTOR THIS IS AN AFFORDABLE ALBUM UNTIL YOU CAN RAISE THE £500+ FOR A MINT COPY! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have been a record collector since the 1960's and have traded them for the last twenty years. Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump. Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
