Description
JETHRO TULL ~ The Minstrel In The Gallery UK LP Chrysalis CHR 1082. 1975
Original UK 1st Pressing on the green Chrysalis Label and with -1U matrix endings.
Detailed Gradings: -
Outer Sleeve: NM
The Outer sleeve is in really superb condition, you would really struggle to find a better example. The spine and edges are in almost perfect condition. In my listings I will always identify any defects of note rather than just give a blanket grading but with this LP I am struggling to note any real defects. The rear of this sleeve with the upside down pasted photo is susceptible to wear due to its dark colour, but this example is super clean, there are a couple of very feint creases, which probably prevent a straight mint grading. Stunning.
Vinyl: EX
The Vinyl is in EX condition. The record retains a deep black gloss shine, and overall it’s a super copy as you would expect to find from such a wonderfully preserved sleeve. None the less, it does have 2 or 3 noticeable hairlines which I have tried to capture in the photos. These are a little unsightly on such a high condition item, but I have carefully played the LP through on my Project deck and it does play through really well. The audio delivers very very little surface noise when coming into contact with these hairlines, there are certainly NO nasty pops or harsh clicks. In short, the record is really nice but does have a couple of noticeable marks that play through without hardly any noise.
Matrix No’s :
Side A : CHR-1082 A-1U 31922-F
Side B : CHR-1082 B-1U 31923-F
Audio Grading : EX+ Please see my notes above, the LP plays really well.
Labels: Near Mint ~ Clean, and with no significant marks.
Inner Sleeve: Near Mint. The custom thick card inner sleeve is in stunning near mint condition, beautifully clean with no noticeable defects.
Overall this a superb item, the sleeve and inner are not too far off being in Mint Condition, I have rarely seen such a good copy as this. The vinyl is again very clean, but does have a couple of marks that look worse than the audio playback reveals, as this LP plays really nicely.
All records are been placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high grade type which re-inforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use. Despite using high quality packing materials, I only charge the actual costs of postage.
