Here we have the really hard to find mono pressing of their classic first album...It plays really well,despite looking a bit rough and the sleeve is worn so it has a low start!.
Issued by Island on 25th October 1968..ILP 985...Uk pressing in a laminated gatefold sleeve..
The disc:...It looks VG minus..Both sides have some light scuffs and hairlines..
However....
Both sides play EX..The scuffs and hairlines have NO affect on the play ..(A tiny crackle on a couple of the track links is all)...I noted no clicks or pops and was impressed by the clarity and depth of the sound quality..
The disc played flat on the deck with no edge warps or dishing..
The labels:..Crisp,clean and undamaged with bright colours and untarnished text....There is visible spindle wear...
The sleeve:..This sleeve is VG minus at best...The opening edges are worn..The spine is badly worn through the colour..The corners are rounded..There are laminate creases both front and back..There is dischape inside the gatefold..There are small seam splits at the top (Both flaps of the gatefold) and the bottom (front flap only)..There is edge rubbing....
But,it has no rips,tears,stains,scribble,stickers,sellotape or creases...
You are welcome to collect this in person or from The Southend Record Fair (9th Novemeber and then the second Sunday in each month)..Where there are LOADS of great albums and singles offered for sale...
Venue for this fair is West Leigh Schools on the A13..SS9 2JB...Record collections always wanted!.
