A rare very first pressing of this seminal album by Jethro Tull in great condition for its age ! The very earliest 1969 UK pressing of Tull's second ( and considered best by many ) album release, pressed on solid vinyl, which has been followed by around 15 further album versions. Very first matrix numbers, no mother stampers, original Island 'pink eye', orange and black logo and celebrated 'pop up' on inner cover !

N. B. : I will not offer a formal grading of records, as I have had several experiences of sellers, either intentionally or unwittingly, grading records well above their actual status, i.e. 'excellent' - when there are numerous surface marks etc. Instead I will attempt to offer as comprehensive and honest description of each aspect of the item for sale as I can, with the explicit statement that you can always contact me for further details should my descriptors appear insufficient or unclear. Additionally, my returns terms allow for items to be sent back to me if they do not reflect my listings evaluation and descriptions !!!

Record Condition ; Very good indeed !!! Light surface hairlines and two noticeable, but superficial surface marks - one on each side not affecting play at all !!  Nice and glossy and clean !!! ( Tried to capture its rich black/deep blackberry gloss, but patio door and handle shadows compromised best photography )

Label Condition ; Excellent !!! Clean and clear with a few light spindle marks (see photographs ) .

Cover Condition ; Original gatefold shows some signs of very light wear only !!  Some very light edge wear in a few places and the beginnings of some very light ringwear on rear cover, which also shows some mild discolouration due to age and storage . No rips, marks or seam tears, seams are fully intact and adhered. Spine is strong - nice and clean and clear with only a few very very light spots of wear. Pop - up inner and entire inner cover, is in 'as new' condition, with no rips tears or seam separations ( See photographs ! ) 

Aural Evaluation Played through really well, with rich clear sound. Some light crackle in quieter passages and between tracks, but with no skips, jumps or pops at all !!!?
