Very rare 1964 VINYL LP album release entitled The Dreadful Hour (Hargiss Records RR4M-3447), a collection of writings by noted African-American poets ALL narrated by actor CLEAVON LITTLE (1939-1992; perhaps best known for his future role as the sheriff in the classic Mel Brooks comedy, Blazing Saddles) with organ backing by DAVE EVANS (Evans also Arranged and Conducted the trax).  The first track (and title of the LP), "The Dreadful Hour," is an account of President John F. Kennedy's recent assassination, his funeral, and the reactions of those closest to him, as written by SHIRLEY GISSENDANNER (see pic #2).  LP's front cover features six black and white images from those sad days in November 1963 (featuring such individuals as JFK, John Kennedy Jr., Robert F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, Teddy Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, and Lee Harvey Oswald assassin, Jack Ruby).  The other tracks on the album include three pieces written by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON (1871-1938), including "Judgement Day," "The Creation," and "Go Down Death"; one by LANGSTON HUGHES (1902-1967) entitled "The Negro Speaks of Rivers"; one by PAUL LAWRENCE DUNBAR (1872-1906) entitled "Little Brown Baby"; and one by FRANK HORNE (1899-1974) entitled "On Seeing Two Brown Boys In A Catholic Church."   Cover in beautiful VG++ condition.  Vinyl in nice VG+ condition.  Not available on CD.  Cleavon, Shirley, and Dave are all pictured on the back cover (see pic #2 above).  I searched high and low on the internet researching this LP, and came up with nothing.  It's that rare.

(M) MINT: Perfect, flawless, new

(NM) NEAR MINT: Almost perfect, possibly no more than a few MINOR scuffs, wrinkles or wear.

(VG++) Very Good++. Less quality than Near Mint, but still in beautiful condition.

(VG+) Very Good+. Some scratches or scuffs, some surface markings, some wear, etc.  Nice overall.

(VG) Very Good. Too many scratches, scuffs, or wear for VG+, but still in okay condition.

(VG-) Very Good-. Lots of wear (scratches, etc.). Starter copy.

(G) Good. Wrecked. Excessive wear.

(P) Poor. Just what it says.
