Description
JIM MORRISON (Music By The Doors) "An American Prayer" LP
1st 1978 US Specialty Press (SP) pressing, with classic original Elektra butterfly labels.
Elektra 5E-502
This unique release features the poetry of Jim Morrison read by the man himself, backed with music by The Doors.
Included are other pieces of Doors music, most interesting being a composite live version of "Roadhouse Blues".
Matrix numbers etched in the dead wax read:
Side 1: 5E-502 A SP F4 (SRC logo) 1-1 MASTERED BY CAPITOL
Side 2: 5E-502 B SP F4 (SRC logo) 1-1 MASTERED BY CAPITOL
Spectacular NM wax, plays "like new".
A few very light superficial paper scuffs visible under bright light but have no impact on sound quality.
Super high gloss remains.
Labels are clean, sharp and bright, look "like new".
Beautiful, clean jacket.
I have downgraded the jacket condition from NM to EX because the jacket is a "cut-out". (See the closeup photo to understand the "cut-out" at the lower left jacket corner.)
Front and back jacket photos and text are rich, bright and crystal clear.
Some light age spots visible on top seams. Some shallow creases at corners.
Solid seams and spine. No splits.
Spine print is crystal clear.
Includes the original 8-page booklet attached to the inside gatefold area (with two color photos of Morrison and his lyrics), in NM condition.
SEE PHOTOS for more details.
My Profile / Policies:
Note: I've qualified for the "Top Rated Plus" seal from eBay, awarded to sellers who consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
Music is my passion. I’ve been a collector for more than 50 years and have thousands of records in my personal collection, focused largely on 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. Recently retired, I look to downsize and sell select portions of my collection in hopes of financing future purchases of a few special pieces.
All records I offer are from my personal collection, each cleaned using my Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Machine.
Wax is play graded (not just visually graded), employing Goldmine Price Guide standards.
As I take great care to accurately describe my items, I do not accept returns unless my item description is incorrect.
All records are packaged with the wax outside the jacket (to avoid seam split in transit), enclosed in a plastic sleeve and shipped in robust record mailer boxes via USPS Media Mail, tracking included.
International customers pay shipping costs and duties per the eBay Global Shipping Program guidelines.
Payment expected within 2 business days of sale.
