Description
This is the first album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience and the first ever release by the Track Record label, which didn't survive for very long. It has been owned by me since new and has lain untouched for several decades until I played it last week. The record plays very well, with no skipping or jumping, and has only a few faint, superficial scratches on each side and little, if any, spindle wear. There is faint background crackle between tracks and during some very quiet phases of the music; there is also a faint audible click towards the end of Side 1, Track 6.
The front cover has slight creasing and a fine 15 mm cut on the top edge, about 2 cm to the left of the mid-line. There is also a 90 mm x 8 mm rectangular sellotape mark at the top left hand corner and a faint stain at the top right hand corner. These can be seen on photos 1, 3 and 4.
The back cover also has a 90 mm x 80 mm rectangular sellotape mark at the top right hand corner, where I inadvisably stuck a track list, and the stamp of the record shop where I bought it. These can be seen on photos 2 and 5.
The internal sleeve is the original and is stamped MADE IN ENGLAND 057 which, I understand from other websites, is indicative of a genuine First Press. Side 1 run-out is stamped 612001 A ? 1 and side 2 stamped 612001 B A ? 1 which I understand, also from other websites, is indicative of a genuine First Press as well.
