The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. Any significant playing defects will be detailed in the description below. I know how disappointing it is to receive a record graded as excellent, only to find that listening pleasure is spoiled by endless pops, loud clicks and intrusive background crackle. I guarantee that you will not buy such a record from me!!

The winning bidder can expect to receive a clean record, carefully packaged, with the vinyl removed from the inner and outer sleeves to prevent splits in transit.

Here for auction is an exceptional example of the second album by THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE titled “AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE”, Catalogue Number 613 003. This is a 1967 UK STEREO *1st PRESSING* on the TRACK RECORD LABEL, with the EARLIEST POSSIBLE MATRIX NUMBERS, and the EARLIEST DESIGN FULLY LAMINATED E. J. DAY & Co. Ltd. SLEEVE. Seriously hard to find in the condition offered here!!

The fully laminated *1st Press*gatefold sleeve, printed and made in London by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London, is in VERY GOOD+ CONDITION. The front and back covers are unmarked, retaining their vivid coloration, with no lifting of the laminate. There are just a few very light creases in the laminate near the edges. The opening gatefold spread is in excellent condition with all 4 flipbacks undamaged. There is a faint dealer stamp inside the gatefold. The top and bottom edges have barely any wear at all. The opening edge has moderate feathering and a short split near one corner (this can just be seen on the photo of the back cover below). There is just light rubbing to the corners. The spine is square and solid with barely any signs of wear. Overall a lovely example of this fragile 1st Press sleeve!!

The heavyweight Track *1st Press* vinyl has a deep mirror-like shine and sits flat and true on the turntable. It really is a beauty!! Visually in EXCELLENT CONDITION with just a few very light surface marks evident under bright light (typically from taking the record in and out of the inner sleeve). These are of course purely superficial, and are of no audio significance. The BEAUTIFUL MATT BLACK TRACK LABELS are unmarked, and show only a few light spindle traces each side. There is virtually no wear around the spindle hole. I am confident that the record has not been played very many times.

PLAYGRADE ASSESSMENT:

Playback is of a very high standard. Both sides play SUPERBLY with ALL FREQUENCIES CRYSTAL CLEAR. There are no pops or loud clicks, and an absolute minimum of unwanted noise to spoil the listening experience. Several of the tracks have quiet sensitive passages which are easily spoiled by excessive crackle and surface sound. Not on this example – all play beautifully with barely any unwanted noise. You really will struggle to find a better playing copy!!

Complete with the original white poly-lined inner sleeve which is in very good condition. There is a short tear from one centre cut-out, and some creasing and age discoloration. There are no splits to the edges. “MADE IN ENGLAND” and “British Patent No…” are printed on the bottom in blue text.

SUPERB EXAMPLES LIKE THIS ONE ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FIND, AND DO NOT COME UP FOR SALE VERY OFTEN. DON’T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY!!!
