Track Records 613008/9 Stereo 1968 very first pressing

Superb near mint original “Nudes” Track laminated gatefold cover with the white text and credits.

Matrix Numbers – 613008 A1 (side A) 613008 B1 (side B) 613009 B1 (side C) 613008 A1 (side D)

The labels have the inverted catalogue number above the standard catalogue number indicating the very first pressing.

Later pressings did not have the inverted numbers but are commonly sold on ebay as first pressings.

The Records are  visually graded Excellent (sides A, B and D) , side C is graded Very Good Plus

The play grade is Excellent

The Record Labels are graded Excellent Minus

The Cover is graded Mint Minus

All of my records are carefully visually graded under bright light and fully play graded before auction.

Records

The records are in very nice condition and are strictly graded Excellent Minus overall.

Side A: No scuffs, some light hairlines and one scratch line on “Voodoo Chile” so grades Very Good Plus

Side B: No scuffs or stylus scratches, some light hairlines only and grades full Excellent

Side C: No scuffs but does have one small scratch at the end of “Moon, Turn the Tides…”  and slightly more visible hairlines and superficial handling lines than the other three sides so is graded Very Good Plus

Side D: No scuffs or stylus scratches, some light hairlines only and grades full Excellent

Labels – Ex Minus

The matt black labels appear in above average condition with light-moderate number of spindle lines when seen under bright light. The labels are graded Excellent Minus.

Cover – Mint Minus!

The original laminated gatefold cover is incredible! Even under close scrutiny I can find almost no defects worthy of comment for this cover. No marks, storage wear, ringwear, edge wear of any kind. All edges are completely straight and unworn including the record entry edges. All corners are square and unworn.

This cover was frequently folded over in shops to cover up the nude ladies in 1968! This resulted in permanent damage to the centre spine and split laminate all the way down. This one hasn`t even been opened too many times let alone folded over and so is easily the best nude cover I have ever seen!

The front, back and gatefold interior are in wonderful shape with not even a hint of any laminate creasing and with no unwanted marks or wear and reveal all of the artwork in full gloss and shine.

The only minor comment I would make is for the bottom spine corner which has a small dink.

This cover looks and feels almost shop new and would be almost impossible to better, its is that good. The Cover is graded Mint Minus

Inner Sleeve

The records come in original white polylined company inners in excellent condition.

Sound Quality – Please read all of the sound quality comments

I have listened carefully to all four sides of Electric Ladyland and the sound quality of this record is above its visual grade as it plays with NO skips or jumps of course, and incredibly there is NO distortion throughout any of the four sides even at high volume. Only by intense listening could I make out some very low level background crackle and that was only occasionally on the quiet parts. Please note in particular the two audio defects described below for Side A and also Side C

Side A has near silent run in grooves before the perfect audio of the introduction track “And The Gods Made Love”. “Have you ever been to Electric Ladyland” and “Cross town traffic”play with no problems at all. The long closing track “Voodoo Chile” has a light revolution click audible in parts during the first two to three minutes of the track. It is light however and but is audible so must be mentioned.There are no between track grooves on this side as the tracks are continuous.

Side B has silent run in grooves leading to “Little Miss Strange” which has near perfect audio as does the entire side. Even the between track grooves on this side are silent or near silent. There is nothing on this side to interfere with the audio quality whatsoever.

Side C starts with silent run in grooves leading to the perfect audio sound of “Rainy Day Dream Away”. The long continuous “1983…….” And “Moon Turn the Tides……” with its frequent quiet passages plays beautifully with no distortion or crackle at all. The very last minute of the side does have a light audible revolution click and some low level crackle however. It is minor, but its there so must be mentioned.

Side D starts with near silent run in grooves. All of side D plays with excellent audio quality with absolutely no distortion and only occasional very light crackle (2/10) heard once or twice throughout the side. All of the between track grooves on this side are near silent.

I have listened to all four sides thoroughly of course and apart from the previously mentioned final minute of “Moon Turn the Tides……..” and part of the side A “Voodoo Chile” the sound quality is superb and difficult to fault.

The grading system I use is from Record Collector:- Mint, Excellent, Very Good with +/- to distinguish borderline grades.
