THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE ~ ELECTRIC LADYLAND Double LP

Original 1968 first issue U.K. stereo pressing released on the Track Record label 613008 / 613009.

Description :

Monstrously rare and very hard to find first issue pressing of Electric Ladyland. Contains the blue lettering on the inside of the gatefold sleeve together with the larger photos of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. Later Track label pressings had the text in white with smaller photos.

Original first pressing Track labels such as this one have a slightly different texture to the paper, but the single most important difference between the first and later Track and Polydor pressings is the catalogue number on the label:  On the left side of the center hole, the catalogue number is repeated above the bold silver print in small printing, inverted in a bracket, i.e. upside down. In other words it can be read regardless of which way up you see the record. Those bracketed catalogue numbers end with a capital "A" or "B" per side on both record labels and this is only found on the very first pressing.

Condition ~ Vinyl :

Side A is in EXCELLENT condition bordering on NEAR MINT with just one faint squiggly non-audible surface hairline.

Side B is in EXCELLENT condition with just a couple of faint non-audible surface hairlines.

Side C is in virtually pristine NEAR MINT condition.

Side D is in EXCELLENT condition with just one non-audible surface hairline across track 2 and the faintest signs of use.

Condition ~ Sleeve :

The legendary "nude" laminated gatefold sleeve is in overall VG condition. There are only a couple of light creases in the laminate and light general wear. However, the main flaw is with the spine which is pretty worn for the most part particularly at the bottom although fine in other places.

Condition ~ Labels :

The labels have a flat black matt finish with silver print and are all in great shape.  Side A and D have virtually no spindle wear at all while Sides B and C show only a couple.
