Description
Nice complete original 1st press copy of this rare but often overlooked UK Hendrix original!
The quality of these Hendrix Track originals are legendary. The original laminated covers are also quite spectacular when they are in great shape.
The two part issue was released within a couple of months of the double in the UK. It was marketed as an alternative for those who couldn't afford the double (just like Cream - Wheels of Fire and The Who's Tommy). There is also a competing theory that these were issued as an alternative to the risque nude cover. The matrix number is different because it has a different catalog number however it sounds nearly identical(which is really cool), I would be hard pressed to guess which is which.
I actually prefer the cover art to the two part set. Much more psychedelic in keeping with the album. These were only made till 1970 at which time Polydor dropped the marketing idea. I'm at a loss to explain why these don't command $$$, they sound great and have unique artwork.
Sleeve: VG A few areas of minor creasing and some areas of delamination, but overall a really nice and collectible original copy! Has the rare original inner sleeve!
Record: VG+ Beautiful original gloss and sounds fantastic! Has a few minor hairlines that do not affect play! So cool to hear these early Track Hendrix recordings. Blows away anything being produced nowadays!
