Description
This is a copy of the amazing first UK pressing of the second JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE album AXIS BOLD AS LOVE on TRACK RECORDS. Record number 612003 in MONO with 612003 matrix numbers with A1 B1 stampers.
As you can see from the photos, the cover retains its strong laminate sheen but has some creases and scuff marks . There is a minor scuff to the lower and top spine edge from storage wear. There is also some scuffing to the inside edge from what looks like the cover having been taken in and out of a plastic cover. The spine (which scuffs and tears easily on this pressing) remains strong with no tears. There is a 5.5 cm split to the top edge of the rear cover unfortunately.
The inside Matt inside cover has the remains of tape having been affixed to the cover and part of the surface removed (the affects a section of approximately 13cm x 3cm on the edge as can be seen in the photos. There are similar marks on the other inside edge of the cover.
The record has unfortunately lost its original orange inner sleeve at some stage in the past 56 years.
The record itself shows some light surface scratches from taking and spindle marks. There are also a deeper scratch on side 1 across the first 5 tracks.
I’ve played the record through and both sides have a strong clear sound with no jumps or skips/sticks but there are some clicks and pops present on both sides during playback. There are some clicks at the start of ‘EXP’ and pops in the spoken word parts. There are two loud pops on ‘Spanish Castle Magic’. There are loud clicks at the start of ‘You Got Me Floating’ and clicks and crackle sounds between songs on Side 2. There are audible clicks in quieter sections of ‘One Rainy Wish’ and clicks and pops at the start of ‘Little Miss Lover’.
Using the Record Collector grading system, I’d say that in my opinion this is probably a better than ‘Fair’ but below Good’ copy in that “the record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc”. I know this is always a matter of opinion but I’ve tried to grade this carefully as you can hopefully see from the photos and description above.

Postage will be £6.50 delivered in the UK. I will send the record in a cardboard mailbox with a plastic sheet to protect the box from damp. Inside, I will remove the vinyl from the sleeve and provide a plastic cover.
