Jimi Hendrix   Axis: Bold As Love   612003 Super ultra RARE MONO recording  ! !   OVERALL EXCELLENT MINUS! TOP aural delivery with silent grooves ! Beautifully maintained opening gatefold sleeve with vibrant coloration ! Black track first issue labels , with few light spindle traces ! Stunning mirror like finish with a deep lustre very close to EXCELLENT vinyl! Awesome tones !   1967 Original Very First UK pressing of this monumental Hendrix classic .   Matrix A1  /  B1    There are very pleasing and significant differences between the two mixes that make the MONO version extremely special to collectors :??EXP is shorter without the extended feedback at the end and the vocals are louder.?Castles Made of Sand features a different vocal performance.?One Rainy Wish has a slightly different ending.??Mono is well preferred by many with the much deeper, sharp tones and the profound depth of aural delivery. There are other minor differences too, spanning the entire playback, as a result of the separate mixing to mono as opposed to merely combining the stereo tracks. Hence its apparent high value and appeal from collectors worldwide.     Black Track label format . First issue labels!!! Excellent condition .  No damage visible . NO mottling. NO peeling. NO graffiti of any kind. Silver text stands prominently with NO fading or damage . Beautiful examples of this rare mono variant . Side 1 VERY GOOD PLUS - Side 2 VERY GOOD PLUS with few very very light lines visible confirming a carefully handled and average played vinyl.   Laminated outer gatefold SLEEVE . Very first issue with flip backs on inner centrefold . E J Day printed  ! ! Strong, vibrant coloration of luminous orange, pink and blue inks project in style on front/reverse faces .Lovely glossy sheen and opens to excellent. Flip backs near perfect with no damage to report. Few minor creases only. Slight corner rubs. No lifting to laminate and minimal creasing to external lamination. Very difficult to locate in this excellent condition. Spine is EXCELLENT , displaying NO laminate splits, with only top/lower spinal edge wear. Light corner scuffs visiblewith light feathering to opening edge-one minor nick, again hardly visible. DAMAGE!!! On Noel Redding’s hair it seems that the lamination has been peeled off (just on the hair left to Jimi’s head indeed) and inked in. Sorry, when I bought the record, I was... I don’t know... and I just couldn’t see the damage because of the plastic clear overbag. It’s pretty annoying, but it’s not too bad, you don’t really see, check the close up picture! Because of this, the cover is just VERY GOOD PLUS, otherwise strong EXCELLENT!     VINYL   Thick, heavyweight giant and gives a buzz when held. Gorgeous feel . Light surface marks that do not affect play. VERY GOOD PLUS visual grading.   AUDIO Faultless aural delivery. No need to locate another example if you are lucky enough to win this one! EXCELLENT PLUS audio performance. Opens with the introduction of this great rock icon . As he speaks the special effects of the deliberate deceleration of his vocals kick in and grind down to a mind blowing initiation of a truly magnificent album presentation. Launches the listener into an amazing journey of sensational tones and a tremendous depth of sound . The monotone delivery is one of the best that I have heard from this Hendrix classic and conveys the music with a concise definition and a razor sharp edge.   Surface disturbance is virtually non existent. Near silent grooves even between tracks for most of playback and is quite remarkable, with no distortion of any kind from this mono release . Absolutely awesome audio as mono records got played with heavy styli and caused massive groove wear, resulting in distortion and muffled deliveries. This audio delivers unbelievable tones, razor sharp with a definitive edge! Will not disappoint.   A truly phenomenal Hendrix release and as one listens to this album, one can appreciate that this is a true classic ,  and one record that all serious vinyl collectors should have. The pure genius of this man is illustrated throughout. The feedback from the amplifiers and the screeching electric guitar infusions are truly magnificent and places this rock classic as one of the best of its time.   An excellent album gatefold sleeve with a spell bounding audio to match!  Depth of sound is truly awesome with opening grooves beautifully clear.   The original ORANGE lyrics insert is MISSING!
