This was Jimi Hendrix's very final concert performance before he went to kiss the sky. 18 days after he performed at the legendary Isle of Wight international music festival, he was dead. These songs (with the exception of some last-minutes jamming with War and Eric Burdon mere hours before he died) represent the very final chapter in the saga of Jimi Hendrix's short, and glorious, life. The album (Jimi Hendrix: Isle of Wight) originally came out only in Europe in 1972, and has never been issued in the States prior to the 2003 release of this, complete, concert performance.

(d)          The records are apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(e)           The records are believed to be pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.
