JIMI HENDRIXBAND OF GYPSYS WITHDRAWN PUPPET SLEEVE
Year: 1970 original TRACK records 2406002
LP – Stereo – UK 1st Press

2406002 B1 Stampers 1 1 2 1
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS TRACK LABEL, 1ST PRESS A1/B1 MATRIX ENDINGS, BOTH LABELS MISSPELL AS “GIPSIES” AND ULTRA RARE 1ST PRESS 'PUPPET' COVER WITH PUPPETS OF BOB DYLAN, BRIAN JONES AND JOHN PEEL THAT WAS IMMEDIATELLY WITHDRAWN SOON AFTER RELEASE DUE TO COPYWRIGHTS. THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VERY HARD TO FIND.
IT IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE WITH THE IMPOSSIBLY RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS WITHDRAWN “PUPPET” COVER AND A/1 B/1 MATRIX ENDINGS AND VERY EARLY 1 1 STAMPERS.
THIS IS THE RARE PUPPET SLEEVE WITH FIGURES OF JIMI HENDRIX, BRYAN JONES, BOB DYLAN AND JOHN PEEL AND was quickly RETIRED AND REPLACED BY THE IOW ISLE OF WIGHT COVER (that I am also listing). Rumours saying that this was mostly due to the fact that the back sleeve shows a right handed Jimi Hendrix puppet!.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT THAT THIS IS ONE OF JIMI HENDRIX'S RAREST LPS EVER.
This is the ORIGINAL Track UK 1st Pressing from 1970 and the vinyl is visually graded in excellent condition for side 2 and in very good condition for side 1. I have played the LP in a standard equipment and sounds much better than it looks. I am always amazed at the quality of these old pressings. Please see below for a description of gradings and be aware that this LP is over 50 years old and will not transform in anything different to the condition listed.
The Cat. No is 2406 002 on the 1st Press Track label and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing (there were NO Mono!)
Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and although has marks has had little play.
The record labels are in excellent condition with both labels misspell as “GIPSIES”! This was soon corrected and also the sleeve changed for the Isle of Wight sleeve.
The ULTRA RARE 'Earliest' 1st Press 'Puppet' Cover is in VERY GOOD condition. The cover has corner and edge wear. The back sleeve has a white tear .
DON’T LOOSE THE CHANCE OF OWNING A RARE PIECE OF ROCK HISTORY!
PLEASE WAIT TO RECEIVE AN INVOICE IF THE BIDDING EXCEEDS £20 AS IT WILL NEED TO BE INSURED ACCORDINGLY .

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and sixty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.
Play-grading MONO records: Mono records and stereo records have different grooves. A stereo record produces a stereo sound via both lateral and vertical groove modulation whereas a mono record is not intended to produce any sound from vertical modulation. Playing a mono record with a stereo cartridge will create distortion because it is trying to pick-up the vertical (stereo) part of the signal, whereas this is not intended to be heard on a mono record and so is just noise. Using a pre-amp with a mono switch will eliminate the noise caused by vertical modulation leaving just the lateral groove signal which is how the record was intended to be heard. If you do not have a mono switch on your amp or pre-amp you will be reproducing the noise from the vertical part of the signal and so the record will not sound as good. This is not any fault of the record, it is inherent to playing any mono record through a system that it was not designed for. Guide to grades used
