This record is extremely sought after, not just for it's original soulful, organ driven sound, but also for it's title track "Root Down" - the track much sampled by the Beastie Boys in the 90's. While the track truly does shine on this album, each other song  stands on their own.   Excellent and energetic players on this one are Paul Humphrey, Wilton Felder, Buck Clarke, Arthur Adams, and Steve Wlliams.
