JIMMY SMITH "The Sermon" P, RVG, DG, LAM, Blue Note 4011 Mono Vinyl

This is the "RVG" stamped, Laminated Cover, P-pressing of JIMMY SMITH's "The Sermon" on the "New York" labels Blue Note BLP 4011. Musicians include Jimmy Smith – organ, Lee Morgan – trumpet, Lou Donaldson – alto saxophone (lays out on 3), Tina Brooks – tenor saxophone (lays out on 3), Kenny Burrell – guitar, Art Blakey – drums.

VINYL plays with LOW LEVEL surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are very dynamic and strong, clear, clean and powerful. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Surface is dull. Handful of hairline marks, a couple feelable. (If you can't feel it you won't hear it). The "New York" labels are clean with some creasing and spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in very good shape, corners worn.  Top Seam shows some chipping, spine and lower seam nearly perfect. BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" Back jacket shows aging, wear, minor tear. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC AUDIO DESK SYSTEME VINYL PRO CLEANER.
