Description

"JIMMY & ESTELLE "MAMA" YANCEY WITH THIS MEGA RARE "ONE OF A KIND" ACETATE RECORDING RELEASED IN ABOUT 1950 (BEST ESTIMATE)  BY THE "MOULIN STUDIOS" IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA.  THIS ACETATE RECORDING IS REMARKABLY IN VG++ CONDITION & PLAYS JUST GREAT!!    SELECTIONS INCLUDE: HOW LONG BLUES - PIANO SOLO BY JIMMY YANCY  /  PALLET ON THE FLOOR - VOCAL BY MAMA YANCY (PLEASE NOTICE THE MIS-SPELLING OF THE YANCEY LAST NAME ON BOTH LABELS).   JUST THE COVER IT WAS ACQUIRED IN WILL BE PROVIDED ALONG WITH A INNER COVER SLEEVE AND PLASTIC OUTER SLEEVE.
I've tried to verify the origin of the label "Moulin Studios" 181 Second Street, San Francisco.  After a fairly lengthy "Google" search I'm finding this studio, @ the address on the label, was a very prominent photography studio in San Francisco from the thirties up thru the mid to late fifties.  However, nowhere is it mentioned that a recording studio (service) of any type existed within this building or was any part of their business.  The two recordings are exactly the same on both sides.  Nothing is written in either trail-off area.  Given the 33 1/3 speed of this recording, I'd have to guess it was laid down in the very early fifties as Jimmy passed away in 1951.
