Description

This sale is for a copy of "First Place" by J.J. Johnson. This is from 1957 (1st pressing) on Columbia CL-1030 in mono. This is the original pressing with the 3-eye Columbia logo. This is in beautiful condition.......see all photos below. The players are J.J. Johnson (trombone), Max Roach (drums), Paul Chambers (bass) & Tommy Flanagan (piano). The songs are "It's Only A Paper Moon", "Paul's Pal", "For Heaven's Sake", "Commutation", "Harvey's House", "That Tired Routine Called Love", "Be My Love", "Cry Me A River" & "Nickels & Dimes".

  • Cover : The cover is in NM- condition with a tiny light rub on the corner tips but otherwise this looks new. *****PLEASE NOTE***** In the photo below, the spot at the bottom of the cover is from the flash of my camera. This is NOT on the cover. Flash only.


  • Vinyl : The vinyl shines like new with all of its original gloss & is in NM- condition on both sides with a couple of very light surface scuffs.

    • Labels : The labels are in NM condition.
