Joan Jett

SELF-TITLED DEBUT LP

Ariola Records (202.192) 1980

ORIGINAL 1980 HOLLAND PRESSING

In the spring of 1979 (upon leaving The Runaways) Joan Jett flew to England to record some songs with Steve Jones and Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols.  Later that year she returned to the US and finished what would become her first album.  Despite the popularity of The Runaways this debut solo record was rejected by several US labels, thus a handful of copies were released in England and Holland on the boutique label Ariola Records in early 1980.  Joan then chose to release the album herself in the US on her own Blackheart Records and eventually signed with a major label.  The record was then retitled, "Bad Reputation" and sold world wide.

Listed here is one of the few surviving original first pressings of the record from Holland, which came with a 12 by 12 inch photo inner-sleeve (see pictures above).  It is by far the most rare and highly sought after of all Joan Jett records.  Beautiful cover remains in excellent condition with record near mint.   The ultimate gift for any Joan Jett fan and a rare piece that will continue to grow in value.
