Composed and Devised by Joe Meek

First Rock and Roll Concept Album!

This is Joe Meek's legendary I Hear a New World album, recorded back in 1959 and never released completely until this 1991 pressing! Only a 4-track, 7" EP was released in 1961 - the rest of the album was cancelled when the record company became strapped for cash. 30 years later, the entire album was finally released.

Had this album been released on time, it would've been the first rock and roll concept album to go on sale, beating out The Beach Boys and The Ventures. And what a concept album! Joe Meek was heavily influenced by the space program and created this spacy, dreamy, bizarre album.
