Here’s the one you’ve been waiting for, a really nice copy of the composer’s highly sought-after score for the Bryan Forbes tontine comedy The Wrong Box (based on Robert Louis Stevenson's madcap novella, which starred a veritable who’s who of British comedians of the period among them Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Peter Sellers, and Tony Hancock, as well as Michael Caine and Nanette Newman). Never officially released on CD - beware the recent bootleg on Harkit - this incredibly hard-to-find original soundtrack LP is in NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT condition and, better yet, it’s the even more collectible STEREO version (and you just don’t see these anymore - the last STEREO copy offered for sale in this condition on eBay was over 18 months ago and that one sold for $305.99!). The Wrong Box is easily Barry’s most desirable soundtrack ever and one of the all-time top collectible soundtrack recordings. On Mainstream Records (US), S/6088, 1966.
