JOHN BASSMAN GROUP 'Filthy Sky' LP (Dutch import, Stereo 60 600) Extremely rare first pressing from 1970. Features fuzz guitar psych rock by environmentalist Dutch band John Bassman Group. This original album is extraordinarily rare and difficult to secure today. 

Detailed album description:  

The vinyl is very clean, there are few light scratches located on both sides. The vinyl remains in near mint minus condition. The album cover remains in very good plus condition. Minor four corner wear, and a discoloration spot, located on the bottom right corner is evident. Minor spine creases located on the front album cove, near the upper left side. Seems and spine remain in tact. Please view and enlarge all attached images, for further self-visual inspection of this rare item.

'John Bassman Group was a late 60s Dutch group, that recorded their only album in Germany on the A.S.P. label in 1970. This is an excellent European psychedelic progressive album sung in English with Jefferson Airplane-like female vocals and great fuzz guitars. 5 years after this album, two of the group members achieved international fame with the group Pussycat.

'They started as a school band in Landgraaf in 1964. Their album Filthy Sky (1970) wasn't consistent throughout, but at their best they played a highly vital heavy garage rock with cooking fuzz guitars and raunchy female vocals, comparable to the German group Arktis or a much tougher version of Shocking Blue. The environmental theme of some of the lyrics on the album is also worth mentioning. The album was manufactured in Aachen, just across the border to Germany. A part of the profit made from the record went to welfare for handicapped people. John Theunissen and the "bassman" Theo Wetzels later joined Pussycat, who enjoyed the worldwide hit "Mississippi" in 1975.' - Dag Erik Asbjornsen/Scented Gardens Of The Mind.
