This is an marvelous record by JOHN COLTRANE. The title is Ascension. JOHN CONTRANE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THE INTRODUCTION OF SEVERAL OF THE MOST VITAL OF NEW VOICES IN JAZZ.  SOME OF THESE MUSICIANS HAVE RECORDED, SOME NOT.  MOST ARE, AT THE TIME OF THE RECORDING, UNKNOWN OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN NEW YORK, BUT ASCENSION HELPED TO RECTIFY THAT.  THE SOLOISTS ARE, IN THE ORDER OF THEIR APPEARANCE, JOHN COLTRANE, TENOR SAX; FREDDIE HUBBARD, TRUMPET; PHAROAH SANDERS, TENOR SAX; DEWEY JOHNSON, TRUMPET; ARCHIE SHEPP, TENOR SAX; JOHN TCHICAI, ALTO SAX AND MARION BROWN, ALTO SAX.

THIS ALBUM WAS RECORDED ON IMPULSE A-95 AND IS WITHOUT ADDITION 2 ON THE DEAD WAX WHICH MAKES IT WORTH MORE!  The Jazz is truly modern and comtemporary and this LP in VERYGOOD++ condition!

CONDITION: THE COVER IS VG WITH GOOD GLOSS AND IS NICE AND CLEAN!  THE CENTER FOLD HAS WONDERFUL PHOTOS AND IS IN GREAT CONDITION! THE BACK ALSO HAS PHOTOS ON THE BACK COVER.

THE RECORD ITSELF IS IN VG++ CONDITION WITH HIGH GLOSS. THERE ARE A FEW LIGHT LINES WHICH DO NOTHING TO DISTURB THE QUALITY OF THE SOUND.  THE LABELS ARE PERFECT, NO SPINDLE MARKS OR DEFECTS!   

THIS IS A GREAT JAZZ RECORD.  I LIKE TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUMS AS I WRITE THE DESCRIPTIONS AND THE SOUND IS WONDERFUL!

Grading system:

M: New and Unplayed

NM: Nearly Mint, but has been played.  No visible signs of wear or damage

VG+: Very few signs of handling and still very shiny looking near new but a few tiny scuffs or light scratches from being slipped in and out of jackets

VG: Some wear, scratches and scuffs but nothing that should affect the quality of the sound. There may be some background noise
