Description

1957 true 2nd press mono from Blue Note, W63rd NYC, no "R", no "Inc" (on labels and cover), deep groove both sides, ear, RVG. Also note that Curtis Fuller's head is not overexposed on the back cover, denoting that this was a very early repress. No inner sleeve.
Vinyl--VG; a handful of hairlines, 3 of which are feelable to me and cause clicking. Most prominent scratch is about 1" on "Blue Train" which unfortunately is during Kenny Drew's piano solo and Paul Chambers' bass solo where the track's volume is lower. There is light audible clicking. I would say the record overall is a low VG because of these audible scratches but the rest of the surface is pretty clean audibly with no prominent background crackle. Otherwise I would have gone ahead and called it a G+. Despite these flaws, this very early vintage pressing is sonically superior to the new Tone Poet reissues (yes, I have those too and have made side-by-side comparisons).
Cover--VG+, no splits, presents well. Slight bowing.
Conservatively VISUALLY graded using strict Goldmine standards, unless otherwise specified. Will combine shipping costs for multiple orders. Shipping quote is for CONUSA orders only. AK or HI will be extra. Will ship only to registered PayPal address. No international orders please.
IF YOU'VE BID AND WON MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE BEFORE PAYING SO THAT I CAN COMBINE YOUR SHIPPING CHARGES PROPERLY. THANK YOU!
