JOHN FAHEY - The Mill Pond - 2x7" - ed.1000 - very RARE
EXCELLENT double single by the late/great Fahey...recorded in 97' after his 'comeback of sorts' - weird one, pretty noise-y & psychedelic...sounding almost 'eastern/sitar-ish' at points...very WILD!! --- obviously very rare at only 1000 copies pressed....VERY Nice silkscreened 4-panel fold-out cover art with a lovely frog extending on one side....handstamped labels, black vinyl (like it should always be). --- *here are some comments from the label: "avant-folk guitar legend makes a noise record with electric slide, feeback and heavy reverb. go figure" ----- On this EP, Fahey uses heavy reverb, electric slide and feedback to create an eerie mood. He gets a bit of help from Jeff Allman, who recorded the songs and adds some electronic noise in spots, and from Scott Colburn, who mixed the tracks, but this record is all Fahey. The Mill Pond is all over the place stylistically, so it should confuse those who try to pigeonhole Fahey into any one category. The Mill Pond further proves that there is only one category into which he fits: truly innovative guitar genius.

USA: single 7in/45 = $3.50 (media) or $4.50 (Priority shipping). packaged well in 7in/45 mailers with padding. add $1.00 for additional discs/items (double albums), etc. Canada: i will only ship AIR to Canada = $4.00 (+ $1 for each extra disc/item)
Europe/World: single 7in/45 = $7.50 (air) or $6.00 surface (surface can take up to 8 weeks). add $1.50 for additional items.
Japan & Australia: slightly more for shipping.
