Description

SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES!!  This is a reasonably priced 1973 TAKOMA RECORDS ISSUE OF THE ORIGINAL 1965 RIVERBOAT ENTERPRISES LP titled 'The Transfiguration Of Blind Joe Death' from the noted fingerstyle steel-string acoustic folk/blues guitarist John Fahey.  It is Takoma Records catalog number R-9015, black Takoma labels with gold print, packaged in what appears to be an original Riverboat Enterprises cover.  The package also includes a 32-page book of notes to the album by Charles Holloway, Esq.   Tracks: Beautiful Linda Getchell, Orinda-Moraga, I Am The Resurrection, On The Sunny Side Of The Ocean, Tell Her To Come Back Home, My Station Will Be Changed After Awhile, 101 Is A Hard Road To Travel, How Green Was My Valley, Bicycle Built For Two, The Death Of Clayton Peacock, Brenda's Blues, Old Southern Medley, Come Back Baby, Poor Boy, Saint Patrick's Hymn.   Condition of record is conservatively a real nice high VG+ with some light surface marks, none of which can be felt and none of which affect play.  Record plays through very nicely with a little bit of light surface noise.   Labels have no real flaws.  Condition of 32-page notes booklet is VG+ with a small crease and a few slight wrinkles in the front cover page and some slight indications of use.  Condition of cover is a low to mid VG+ with the 3/4" beginning of a split in the lower edge at the lower right corner, some ring and contact wear, and some general wear and a little flaking along the edges and on the corners.  Cover has no writing, tears, or stickers.  This LP would be an essential addition to any John Fahey or folk / blues guitar record collection!
