Description

John Lee Hooker as John Lee Booker on Chance 1110 from 1952 - I Love to Boogie / Graveyard Blues in V-/V grade but unfortunately even though it plays through without problem it is cracked from the edge to the label.

Great and rare early down home guitar with vocal blues from the legendary bluesman.

As a record collector I focus on how a record sounds so the records I am listing are playgraded using a 78 stylus without any filters or adjustments although the look of the record will also be included in the description.I use the VJM grading system but highest grade I use is E+ and the lowest is G+ unless the record is so rare that a G copy would be of interest to collectors so the grading range used is E+/E/E-/V+/V/V-/G+.

Visually the record is in good condition with decent gloss especially on the Graveyard side but these early Chance issues are often not great pressings which doesn't help with this type of very spare guitar and vocal so the I Love to Boogie side shows wear and is a bit noisy and is graded V- but Graveyard has far more gloss and plays much better and is graded a strong V almost a V+ and while it is cracked plays through fine on both sides and is satisfactory until a better copy can be obtained. I got these from ebay several years ago from a guy in Memphis who thought it wa ok to send it in an old LP cover so it arrived cracked. I have been collecting 78s for some time and know how to pack records properly so this will arrive safely. Ask all questions before bidding as all sales final but please note I travel a lot for business so it might take a little while to get back to you so don't leave any questions to the last minute. I am having a clear out of various spares I have and thought I would give ebay a go so check out the other blues 78s I am listing on various labels including Flame, Sun, Imperial, Checker, RPM, Sabre, Gone, Veejay, Chief, JOB, Elko, Red Robin. Thanks for looking.
