_____ A 1961 Chess album that's filled with 1951-1952 gems from the Hook's heyday. John Lee's songs on this album share the full range of the human experience. All emotions, whether happy, mad, glad or sad, his Blues explore it all. One of his Top three recordings of all-time in my opinion. Offered here is THE HOLY GRAIL of my Blues collection, it's a WLP. Chess originally bought "Mad Man Blues" and "Hey Boogie" from the Gone label; the rest first came out on Chess during Hooker's frenzied early days of recording, when his platters turned up on nearly every R&B indie label existing at that time. An essential album for any fan of John Lee Hooker, even more essential to the serious Blues collector.
