The third and last of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's experimental albums to be released within a one-year period, Wedding Album, like Unfinished Music, No. 1: Two Virgins, was in some ways more notable for its packaging than for its content. It came in a box containing a facsimile of the Lennons' wedding certificate and a photograph of a piece of wedding cake. The record itself contained two selections, one of which consisted of nearly 25 minutes of Yoko Ono's wailing, while the other, "John and Yoko," featured the two, one in each stereo speaker, calling out the other's name for more than 22 minutes. Employing such limited lyrics, Lennon is the more expressive, Ono the more penetrating

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  (WEAK) NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             The album comes with its original 2-page insert

(d)            The album comes with its original photo scrapbook

(e)             The album comes with its original 'wedding certificate' insert

(f)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER # 1 (INTERNAL - GATEFOLD COVER)

THE COVER IS NEAR MINT !

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-         Small piece of tape noted on the spine (NO splitting on the spine, just a small piece of tape)

-         Back cover has a small sticker /label, which may be possible to remove with a little effort (we did not attempt to)

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1 (front side) and 2 (back side).

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the spine (nothing significant)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE GATEFOLD COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No peel-off marks

-        No stains

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers. 

·       COVER # 2 (EXTERNAL)  (1-inch thick box)

THE BOX IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+++.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the box:

-         The box  shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-         Box has a visible wrinkle (crease) in the cardboard base on the front panel

-         The box has a few pressure points and lines (as if someone attempted to write on it with the ballpoint pen, but ran out of ink) [about 1 square inch in area]

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)

-         Box has a light "wrinkle" (crease)  in one of the corners (nothing significant)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE BOX:

-        No split seams

-        No ring wear

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.
