Description
“Some Time in New York City” by John Lennon & Yoko Ono, their first press, gatefold album, with a whole lot of help from their friends. Please see more below.
Plus the album was produced by John, Yoko, and ….. Phil Spector!
The vinyl condition is VG+ on both records, all 4 sides. There are some light smudges, sleeve marks, and light age marks but no scratches or deep marks.
The jacket’s condition is VG+ as there is faint ring wear and dirt on the covers but the spine and corners are firm and sturdy. The gatefold has a tiny bit of age showing but the pictures inside are beautiful.
The 2 inner sleeves are intact without any folds but show the record’s shape on the covers & have a couple of light creases.
Included is the rare, Postage-Paid Petition for purchasers of this album to sign on behalf of John & Yoko’s rights that was inside every copy. This famous and rare petition was designed to help John and Yoko who were facing deportation at that time.
John and Yoko’s friends were many including Elephants Memory Band and Frank Zappa‘s Mother of Invention All Star Band. Zappa’s All Star Jam Band was fantastic as they performed a scorching hot rendition of John’s new song, “Cold Turkey”, the best live version ever!
2 of the album’s 4 sides are from live appearances! The live, London show features John performing with The Who’s, Keith Moon; Nicky Hopkins; Led Zeppelin‘s, John Bonham; Cream’s, Eric Clapton; the fifth Beatle, Billy Preston; George Harrison, and more!
The names were fudged for contractual purposes IE: Derek Clapton. The credits naming those who sang with them are written in John’s handwriting in red marker over Zappa’s own Fillmore, inner sleeve, (see the inner sleeve for the altered names).
