JOHN MARSHALL -- Thrill On The Hill (Let's Go Let's Go Let's Go) / Finger Poppin' Time -- hard to find, original early 1980s (??) U.S. 45 RPM single. Apparently unknown Private Press Funk / R&B re-working of two Hank Ballard classics with a bluesy groove, produced by the legendary Godfather of Soul, James Brown (he also produced another private Funk 45 for Marshall, "Ruby" on Augusta, around the same time.) B-side opens with Marshall calling out "This one's for you, JB - !" and Brown responding with a trademark "Hey!!" A very difficult record to find -- this appears to be the only copy that's surfaced so far, and it may have been a DJ Promo only release. In generic sleeve. Record: VG, light surface wear, light background noise at beginning of B-side, writing on B-side label, on Pure Heart private label, U.S. press.
