You are bidding on a very rare acetate of the JOHN MARTYN single from 1981 
PLEASE FALL IN LOVE WITH ME/DON'T YOU GO
Acetates would be made when a recording was finished so that the musician or producer or record company could hear the finished song before going to the pressing plant to order vinyl test pressings and then the proper single.
Acetates were not make to last and constituted of a metal inner with a thin skin od plastic on top - like a flexidisc - that could be played to listen to the song. The more times the acetate was played over time the sound quality would decline. It was simply to allow the artist or record company to hear what had been recorded so they could approve the recording or the mix of the song
This acetate was cut by STRAWBERRY MASTERING in London.
The labels look great but this acetate has been played a lot and consequently when you play it there is a lot of noise and crackle. It sounds like someone is frying bacon as John sings. 
So, whilst the audiuo is not great it is a unique and rare John Martyn item as there were probably only 1-3 copies made.
