Description

JOHN MARTYN The Tumbler UK ISLAND STEREO FIRST Pink Eye Label A/B MATRIX Folk

John Martyn, The Tumbler.

Original England pressed Island Records stereo LP, ILPS 9091.

Earliest "bullseye" logo on distinctive almost chalky textured pink label, matrix side 1: ILPS 9091+A, side 2: ILPS 9091+B.

Vinyl visually close to EX. The labels are bright and clean and there is just very light evidence of spider trail marks around the spindle areas. The playing surfaces still have a high gloss and display just a very few light hairline scuff marks.

Side One plays a very solid EX with barely any background. A very small scuff mark causes some tickiness to the first track on side two and this carries over into the second track a little. However, the scuff mark is small and only actually visible to the first track - it is hard to see any marks which would cause noise to the second track. There are no loud and/or consecutive ticks and the rest of side two plays a solid EX, as side one.

Sleeve EX. Main panels bright and clean with no loss, stickers, pen etc. Just a fraction of ringwear impression, marginal, and some miniscule crease lines leading in from edge areas. Spine in superb shape, top and bottom edges not worn, and entry side still clean and crisp.

All in all a very nice, if not quite perfect, issue.
