JOHN MAYALL ‘BACK TO THE ROOTS’ 1971 FIRST PRESSING A1 + B1 (STAMPER CODES FOR BOTH LPs) DOUBLE VINYL LP IN TEXTURED GATEFOLD SLEEVE COMPLETE WITH 12” PICTURE BOOKLET IN PRISTINE CONDITION

Sleeve Condition: Near Mint, which for this very delicate, almost paper-thin sleeve, is something of an achievement.  There is a vague bump to the bottom right corner but apart from that this is a perfect sleeve.  I’ve never seen one of these without the edges dog-eared and the corners bumped and worn away.  This one has been kept in a plastic protective sleeve since the day it was bought which is probably the only way of keeping one in this almost perfect condition.

Record Condition: Near Mint, both records give the appearance of never having been played or even taken out of the sleeves!  All four sides are unmarked and look new.  They play flawlessly.

I’ve never seen a better copy of this.  In fact, I’ve never seen a copy which even comes close to the condition this one is in.  The eventual owner of this album with not be disappointed.

Fans of this double album may know that there was an awful, 1980’s bodged attempt at remixing and remastering the original tapes to re-release it on CD.  It’s generally agreed that the finished result managed to mix out much of the subtlety and finesse of the original.  This is therefore, an almost unique opportunity to acquire an, astonishingly well-cared for original, in the best condition one is ever likely to come across.

Overseas bidders please note that this is double LP in a gatefold sleeve with a think booklet.  It’s a heavy item to post and the shipping costs reflect this.
