GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica ben riuscita e simpatica comprendente gli ingredienti tipici per mettere in risalto una commedia brillante e la splendida Audrey Hepburn. Tutto questo nelle stile compositivo di Williams fatto in maniera garbata e con buon senso della misura. I temi hanno sempre una leggerezza particolare che aiutano a rendere più che mai gradevole la visione del film. Tra questi: "Nicole" (a5) brano romantico in cui risaltano pianoforte, tromba e vocalizzazioni femminili. "The Key" (b1) caratterizzato da un ritmo piacevole con organo e percussioni, accenni di musica Beat, presenza di strumenti a fiato ed orchestra. "At Maxim's" (b4), bossa nova ben condotta dal flauto, tromba con sordina ed altri strumenti a fiato. Il suono del trombone e l'orchestra con un tema per due romantici amanti, privo comunque di forzate stucchevolezze, pone fine all'album ed al film (a6).

I titoli dei dodici brani possono esser letti guardando il retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 2.

Notes : lovely and well done music featuring the typical ingredients in order to highlight a funny comedy movie and the splendid Audrey Hepburn. All this in the compositional style of Williams characterized by pleasantness and good sense of naturalness. The themes always have a special lightness which help to make more pleasant than ever the viewing of this film. Among them: "Nicole" (a5) romantic piece in which stand out piano, trumpet and female vocalizations. "The Key" (b1) characterized by an agreeable rhythm with organ and percussion, hints of Beat music, the presence of wind instruments and orchestra. "At Maxim's" (b4), a bossa nova well led by the flute, muted trumpet and other wind instruments. The sound of the trombone and the orchestra with a theme for two romantic lovers, however devoid of worthless mawkishness, puts an end to the album and the film (a6).

Una divertente commedia in un film di produzione Statunitense. Regia di William Wyler, con Audrey Hepburn, Peter O'Toole, Eli Wallach, Hugh Griffith e Charles Boyer.
