You are bidding for a CLASSIC UK 50'S ROCK N' ROLL / SKIFFLE 10 inch LP by JOHNNY DUNCAN called JOHNNY DUNCAN'S TENNESSEE SONG BAG, issued on the COLUMBIA record label in the UK in 1957, cat number 33S 1122 (GREEN AND GOLD LABEL). Side 1; GET ALONG HOME CINDY, OLD BLUE, TRAVELIN' BLUES, ST JAMES INFIRMARY, CALAMITY MOSE. Side 2; JUST A LITTLE LOVIN', WHICH WAY DID HE GO, MORE AND MORE, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE. The record is in excellent condition with excellent labels .The record has little wear with few slight surface scuffs and few slight surface scratches and plays with no jumps and clicks and a minimum of surface noise.The original picture sleeve (laminated front and back)is vg with no creasing but some corner fraying and a tear along the bottom right front cover.. CLASSIC UK / ROCKABILLY LP from JOHNNY DUNCAN with CLASSIC SKIFFLE / ROCKABILLY tracks. JOHNNY DUNCAN had a smash hit with his debut single LAST TRAIN TO SAN FERNANDO, and along with CHAS MCDEVITT and LONNIE DONEGAN managed to top the US CHARTS. JOHNNY DUNCAN replaced DONEGAN in the CHRIS BARBER SKIFFLE BAND before leaving to have a number of hits of his own with his COUNTRY / ROCKABILLY sound . LONNIE DONEGAN who had a huge world wide hit with ROCK ISLAND LINE and started the SKIFFLE craze in the UK which introduced FOLK and BLUES to UK teenagers, DONEGAN was a huge influence kick starting the UK ROCK, BLUES and FOLK industry,. and responsible for thousands of British teenagers buying a guitar learning a few chords and forming groups. The BEATLES STONES, DIRE STRAITS, QUEEN, VAN MORRISON, BILLY FURY, CLIFF RICHARD, all started by taking their first fumbling steps in SKIFFLE groups, before turning to rock and roll, or the blues, or folk. SKIFFLE only lasted about a year but was a remaining influence, JOHNNY DUNCAN had a number of hits WITH HIS COUNTRY / ROCKABILLY style and remained a longstanding influence, especially on the folk side and country.
