Description

The product is a vinyl single by Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon, released in the UK by EMI International in 1975. The record features the songs "Honey Bee" and "I Don't Know Why," with composer credits to A-Biddu and B-Johnny Johnson & Biddu. Produced by Biddu, the single falls under the genre of Northern Soul and is part of a reissue edition. The record plays at 45 RPM and is in a 7" format, housed in a cardboard sleeve. This nostalgic piece from the 1970s captures the essence of the era with its soulful tunes and unique sound.
Both tracks originally released in 1972 in the UK on Stateside, the production from Biddu is excellent following a very up-tempo Motown mode, on " HONEY BEE " with a piano intro, with a beat that doesn`t let up. The Northern Soul scene appreciated and embraced Johnny`s tracks with relish. The flip " I Don`t Know Why " kicks off with swirling strings and a slow vocal from Johnny ( Mathis his real name born in Florida) that builds into a mid-tempo beat the strings are used on this track with great effect, considering the orchestra were English based, hand picked by the man himself to enhance whatever projects he was working on.
