Description

One for the Bolan completist or for the mod/psych fan who needs a copy,this is a copy of the 1967 third Track label John's Children 45 'Come and play with me in the garden'/Sara Crazy child - with a four pronged centre! As with all early Track 45s the records were pressed with 3 pronged centres[look at your JC,Hendrix,Who singles from 67]so this issue is something of an oddity and very very rarely encountered.A few copies of the Who's 'I can see for miles' exist with four prongers but that was a big seller that would have been on catalogue much longer than 'Come and Play'. A respected Bolan specialist/expert told me that this 'Come and Play' was a repress from the early 70s and he'd only ever seen his own copy[this guy had just about everything bar 'Midsummer'] but my guess is that it is a later 60s one - but who knows we could both be right - or wrong!.Whatever the case its a scarce pressing of a John's Children/Bolan gem and since it was pressed after the original batches,it does'nt have the PS.Its a nice though not perfect copy - the vinyl is glossy with the Aside clocking in at EXCELLENT MINUS,the flip has one inaudible surface scuff and is VG+.Both sides play splendidly and the record is lovely and clean,and it comes in a wavy top proper 60s white sleeve.
