JOSE FERNANDO & LA SUA ORCHESTRA - A LA CARTE on GEVOX (TLP 001) from mid ‘70
Description: Original Italian pressing on the super obscure Gevox label, from circa 1976-1977. Another discovery in the world of lost recording and Italian library by the cult German funk jazz group Lauth Quartet +2 (author of the most wanted and sought after LP on FONIT CETRA) and unknown to the most. Actually this is the same sextet plays a mix of infected Brazilian samba, sophisticated funky groove, lots of latin percussion, piano fender, bossa vocalization, elegant jazz lounge feel. The best track is “Parillata Mixta” (B2), a classic example of latin beat that increase midway to explode into a funky latin jam with tough drum beat and horn riff. Another latin funk number is “Avocados Tintos” (A3) with cool flute and trombone work and heavy bass, “Empanada” and “Merluza” (A6) with flute a la Barigozzi, groovy horn section and latin funky disco rhythm. “Riuniones” (B5) is a cool brazilian jazz samba track..Great LP for DJs. Hard to see copies for sale on ebay..very rare LP!!
Conditions: Original and tiny company picture sleeve cover is EX+. Label is pressed a little bit off-center, a defeat of pressing. Record is closed to M-. Stock copy.
