Label:   FOLKWAYS.  Early pressing with textured black jacket (heavy cardboard construction) and overlay artwork.  Catalog number is FS 3844.  [1959]

BACKGROUND:  Joseph Spence (August 3, 1910 - March 18, 1984) was a Bahamaian guitarist and singer.  He is well known for his vocalizations and humming while performing on guitar. Several American musicians, including Taj Mahal, The Grateful Dead, Ry Cooder, Catfish Keith, Woody Mann and Olu Dara, in addition to the British guitarist John Renbourn, were influenced by and have recorded variations of his arrangements of gospel and Bahamian songs.   (courtesy of Wikipedia).

Condition: 

Album is STILL SEALED in original factory shrink wrap.  Shrink wrap is clean and fully intact, except for a very small separation at top right corner (less than one-half inch) and a tiny ding on the top seam at the center.  Corner tips are lightly bumped.   These are very tiny flaws, it is overall a gorgeous album you will be proud to display.    

A scarce album to begin with, and so much rarer to find one in sealed condition!
