·       CONDITION:

·       RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            THE CONDITION OF THE FIVE RECORDS RANGES FROM VERY GOOD TO STRONG VERY GOOD+ . (Columbia records are generally VG to VG+, while the Mercury records are generally between VG+ and VG++) .The vinyl is NOT MINT or NEAR MINT, but is nevertheless in a very nice and clean condition. There are some surface marks and abrasions, mostly light and superficial, although some may be longer than 1.1/4 inches (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

(b)            All records have a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(c)             The records are pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Of course, these are full-bodied ANALOG recordings, not the inferior, digital jobs!!!

·       COVERS

THE COVERS RANGE BETWEEN VERY GOOD MINUS (Chansons Americaines) and VERY GOOD+ (Encores Americaines). All covers have light to moderate ring wear: On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear between 3 and 6, varying from album to album. All covers have significant yellowing and some visible humidity stains on back panels (but not on the front panels, which are largely clean and free of significant yellowing). One or two titles may have partially split seam or two, but most of the albums are whole and unsplintered. Each album has small writing (small signature of the original owner) – at almost exact, same position on the back panel, in blue ballpoint pen, about 3 x ¼ inch in size. Each album has a tiny, barely visible, dent on the spine (apparently, they were kept as a group, and sustained some minor mechanical impact at the same time and at the same location). Despite the listed flaws, the covers are very nice, and highly decorative.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVERS:

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents

-         No stamps

-         No peel-off marks

-         No stickers or labels

-         No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-         No warping

-         No bar codes

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.
