Description
Jove - Into The Shrine (Aleph)
1977 original private press LP by David Jove (issued under the name "Jove"). This copy is hand numbered "596" and signed by Jove on the back cover beneath the factory shrink wrap. It was originally issued in an edition of 1000 copies. It shares some sonic traits with other folk rock/downer folk albums, but the atmosphere grows more surreal and psychedelic it takes on a mystical feel with cult-y undertones. The liner notes are filled with Crowley-esque symbols and magical formulas. Although check marked as a singer-songwriter album there is a full backing band playing behind Jove that includes drums, bass, guitars and piano. Supposedly recorded at 10 (!!!) different record studios including one in Mexico and one in Israel. Issued by Aleph Records out of Los Angeles.

Notes: Corners of cover slightly "balding" where tiny bits of shrink have flaked away.
As a collector and hobbyist, I know the importance of grading records, and I grade conservatively and honestly. SS (still-sealed), M, M- (NM), VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, Poor. Many dealers' NM would be my VG+.
